Can anyone tell me what is the normal reading for a thyroid test (tsh). My test read 5.6 and the
doctor said that this results where good but I don't believe him. I believe that it's to high.

Normal range according to labs is .5 - 5.0....however in 2007 they recommended that people be treated over 3.0...I personally am very symptomatic over 4.0 with severe anxiety and depression...over the last 8 weeks my TSH went from 2.6, 6.8, 16, .2 to .1...all due to my inability to absorb the synthroid due to my crohns...my emotional status is out of control as a result with severe anxiety...if you do not feel well at 5.6 you need to tell your doctor, only you know when you're symptomatic...good luck
