I have been on it about a week and it's worked wonders for my anxiety. Dr. said I can stay on it as long as needed. If I need to taper off we can switch me, but I would rather take something that works then deal with my anxiety. Anyone else have success with this and have you been on it long? Vistrail was making my IBS really bad so I had to get off that. I was taking that a long with this.

I take Clonazepam and have been on it for about 18months. It has helped with my panic attacks and insomnia.

I take Valium which is in the same category as Clonazepam, and I intend to use it for as long as I need it which may be forever but the alternative of being in anxiety mode or near panic warrants my use of the medication so like you I take my medications with a spoon full of sugar.............. smhair

Bethers, I'm glad to hear your medication is working for you. I had a very nasty experience with "Avanza Mirtazapine"... some horrible mental and physical side effects... I just quit them and threw them away!!!! Feel better, but still feeling a little depressed as the Valium meds I am also taking is a depressant. If I can't figure things out for myself, and become happy again, without the meds, I'll have to go to the doc's for a different prescription.

I'm sure you are probably already aware that Valium is a depressant and is quite addictive, Kitt?

Do you take any anti depressants along with this? also, it can become extremely addictive if taken for longer periods than 4 months. how many mg doses are you taking a day?

Everyone is different, and I've found discovering what caused my anxiety to come on, and my subconscious thought patterns, has really helped me, and I intend to improve my life and thoughts.. at the moment, I take valium too. but I'm hoping it's very temporary, and I only take 2.5 - 5 mg per day on average. I was at a party on saturday night, and everyone was having such a blast, and I couldn't even have a drink because of these stupid Valium pills!! Grr! I hate that this anxiety is taking over my life... I ended up leaving the party because I just couldn't get in the zone! :( :(

Hello and thank you  for your post, I am well aware of most meds as I have been an RN for 30 years and have been dealing with A &P and depression for 27 years.  I have been on much higher doses of benzos and I recommend taking as small of a dose as you need.

I have weaned down from Ativan 4 mg per day to 2 mg of Valium per day.  ( Ativan 1mg = 10 mg of Valium). I am also 63 years old and have been on meds for 26 years so thank you for your concern.  It is always nice to know someone cares. :-)

I take another one in the Klonopin family Xanax. I only use it when necessary which is about 1-3 times a month. We are each individual as is our anxiety. So what works well for one doesn't always work well for another. Good luck!
