Medication not working

Hey, I just found this forum and would like to share my issue.  I have been taking zoloft 75 mgs for about a  year.  All of a sudden, it just pooped out because I feel really anxious and I'm getting mini-panic attacks.  =(  I'm not sure what to do.

I am just wondering if you have had any triggers or changes in your life that may have caused your anxiety to rise?

I would see my physician re the medication not working as it may be the med just pooped out on you and you would benenfit from a change in medication or an increase in the med your on.

Well, I've been diagnosed with GAD w/ agoraphobia. I recently had a few breakups plus I have a new job that requires an 1.5 hr commute one way to work 5-days per week. I also work in a cubical = / so no privacy at all. But I was coping with it pretty well and it just stopped working all of a sudden.

Hey raze, i used to have a 1hr30mins commute to work. It wasn't much fun and left me v.littl time to do things that i wanted todo. about a year ago i went through a very stressful time and meds stopped working for me. My doc put me on an increased dose and i was ok again. Recommend going to doc to see what he has to say.

I too agree you might need a new med or just an increase in your current med. Sending healing thoughts your way!

Update: I just heard back from him. I'm on 100 mgs of zoloft now. We'll see how this goes. Should be a fun two weeks. Ugh.

Thanks. My pdoc told me that it would take about 2 weeks to get used to the increase, so I am giving him a call in 2 weeks to let him know about my progress.

I'm so sorry.  I hate medication poop out.  I loved Lexapro.  I was sane and happy and never had any PA's.  I was up to the max dose of 20mg.  It just quit.

I hope your new dose works sooner than you expect.

Holly, just wondering how long you were on the Lexapro before it quit working for you?

Update: So far so good. I think I'm less anxious than I was. However, I think it can be better. The xanax has really been helping with the transition. I'm going to still give it a week or so before I report back to my pdoc.
