So I know its probably my fault because I took a couple of days off from my "silly" leg exercises and foolishly went on a really long walk in sandals which aren't really good walking shoes Saturday. I had been doing well and not having too much pain in my left leg and the cramp that I had for weeks seemed to have subsided. I even started working out lightly again! Well yesterday it came back full force. My calf is so sore just to touch and the muscle is hard as a rock. I had a massage today and she worked on my leg for a bit and was shocked at how ridiculously tight it is. The other leg is completely fine. I know I should have been doing my stretches but really... 2 days!?!?  I saw my doctor a month ago for this and the sinus infection, which I'm nearing the end of round 2 of antibiotics and its still lingering. I started taking a very small amount of kids cold/allergy medicine which seems to be helping my sinuses clear up (and makes me wonder if I should have some allergy testing done!) but I'm on the fence about calling the doctor. Should I just go back to doing the stretches and see if it works itself out or call? She said if it didn't improve she would probably send me for a muscle biopsy to see what is going on with my leg but I feel like an idiot calling her if its just because I didn't stretch for 2 days. Which seems silly but... ugh. My leg hurts so much and with my sinuses being all junky for a month now I'm just really frustrated with my body. :(

Its certainly not making my HA easy to deal with either so I'm getting lightheaded and my vision is funny (which could probably also be the sinuses) so I'm trying not to let myself panic and remind myself that I am ok, its just a leg cramp, I had it for a month before and I was (besides being sore and a little grouchy) fine.

Don't panic. There's nothing wrong with you. You are just stuffed up with sinuses. It happens to me sometimes. You're okay.

Hey there Dixi,

I am sorry that the leg is acting up.  May I suggest you try a couple of days of doing your stretches and see how that goes.  If the massues felt your leg muscles were tight it may be OK with returning to your exercise routine. 

If it continues to bother you do revisit your Doctor.  I know it is anxiety provoking but I do believe you have a sinus infection and your leg is bothering you.  I hope it all gets resolved soon.

Thanks Kitt and raze, I do think the sinus infection is just messing with my whole head so I have to remind myself its just sinus pressure giving me headaches. I can't let the panic trick me into thinking its anything else! Challenging! I'm doing my stretches and hopefully going to get in a short cycle on the stationary bike tomorrow, see if between the two I can't loosen up the muscle. My husband thinks I'm nuts but at least my masseuse and my doctor acknowledge that there is something funky going on in that muscle. Ah well...

Morning Kitt!
My head is still a little funny but I opted to not take the allergy med this morning and I'm still feeling a bit more calm than yesterday about that.
The leg is a little worse but I think between the massage and serious stretching that perhaps I'm just "working out" the knot. I'm still going to try to get in a workout!

I hope you can stretch out that leg and your day keeps getting better.  You are a winner so keep on battling the anxiety.
