Hello Lexus,
Welcome to HealingWell and the A & P Forum. I am sorry to read of your abuse and the high anxiety you are living with. I would agree whole heartedly with Nanners, if you cannot afford therapy, please do look at the online CBT therapy as it is free, has worked for many and it is frequently the therapy of choice for people with PTSD.
A few other things you may try:
Take care of yourself. Get enough rest, eat a balanced diet, exercise and take time to relax. Avoid caffeine and nicotine, which can worsen anxiety.
Break the cycle. When you feel anxious, take a brisk walk or delve into a hobby to refocus.
Talk to someone. Stay connected with supportive and caring family, friends, faith leaders or others. You don't have to talk about what happened, if you don't want to. Just sharing time with loved ones can offer healing and comfort.
Keep on talking with us. Support groups are a place for people to give and receive both emotional and practical support as well as to exchange information. People with health conditions, as well as their friends and families find support groups to be a valuable resource and get confirmation that their feelings are "normal", educate others, or just let off steam. IMHO joining a support group is joining a family .
Welcome to the family,
Kitt
