I was just curious.... do most people in here have other conditions besides anxiety/panic? Like did your anxiety stem from another health condition? or are there a lot of people that just have the anxiety all by itself?

I have Meniere's Disease and Fibromyalgia.  Meniere's Disease, I believe, triggered my anxiety.  It is a condition of the middle ear that causes horrible vertigo, vomitting, headaches, sweating, tinnitus and loss of hearing.  I feel so out of control when I get an attack because I have to sit sometimes for hours and not move my head or eyes.

Many who suffer from this have anxiety and panic attacks.  I have been in a store by myself and fallen on the floor because it comes on so suddenly.  I have driven a car into a ditch and now have a restricted license.  Many with fibro also have a/p.

I developed anxiety related to my Crohns Disease. Because this disease affects your bowels I always have a fear of travelling and new places. I need to know that safe food is available, but most importantly that bathrooms are near.

I have many medical problems and I am not sure if they relate to my anxiety disorder.

I do know that my anxiety is due to my 2 daughters and husband being in a car accident

back in Dec of 2008 where I almost lost one of my daughters and husband...........

I was also wondering if anyone has tried Pristiq and if so how are you doing on it.

I have hypertension, not too extreme, but Anxiety is my chief complaint.

My anxiety and panic attacks stem from PTSD. Of course, then I fight depression along with it all. Just learning to deal with all of this within the past year, too.

My anxiety comes from my mitral valve prolapse which is an abnormalty of the heartvalve. For some reason people have anxiety/panic, plus other symptoms that come along with mitral valve prolapse but they are not quit certain how. There is just some association between them. Unfortunately I have the anxiety/panic symptoms but I am striving to overcome these horrible things.

Hi

I have had anxiety most of my life but feel my anxiety did cause me to get depression. I also have reactive arthritis which cause anxiety and depression.

Hi, alwayslove,

Great topic! I wasn't aware of my anxiety until other health problems brought it to the forefront. However, as I've learned more about it, I realize that I always had anxious tendencies, just never experienced any attacks when I was younger.

I was diagnosed with depression nearly 20 years ago, and I think my anxiety rides its coattails sometimes.
