I started with anxiety 4 months ago, but have had background anxiety since year dot, its been hell on earth, but strangely enough Im glad ive been through it, as I have learnt so much about
myself and how I think. I was discharged a couple of days ago from the unit. Ive been having CBT, I am also one of Charles Lindens clients. (The Linden Method, worth every penny!) I have been working with both methods and its worked for me tremendously, I am a new women!!!!
I have gone from being obsessed with my health, not daring to leave the house or going anywhere on my own, severe nervousness, horrendous crippling anxiety where I had obsessive thoughts about ending it all, morbid thoughts and horrid derealization, too scared to drive alone or to new places, too scared to swallow let alone eat or drink, eating out was a no no and basic living was impossible. I am now a community volunteer worker teaching old people how to paint, Ive driven to a remote island in search of ghosts ive eaten out in a pub where the portions were for giants (couldnt even look at food for 2 months) and walked into a crowded room and spoke in-front of everyone! Im constantly on the look-out for new challenges.
Ok CBT doesnt work for everyone, but one thing I have learnt is that anxiety and panic disorder is a behavioural problem that upsets the internal equilibrian.
It can be cured!
My psychologist said I had taught her more than university ever did, like life experiences etc... as she was discharging me she actually got bleary eyed, glad that I was well again but sad that I wouldnt grace her company again.
You will ALL be well very soon.
