I think my brain is fried... *question about smoking*

I can make a pretty good guess about what the original topic was. "...brain is fried, question about smoking". I assume you're trying to quit.

It's true that smoking is bad for anxiety. Nicotine is a stimulant. Pretty sure you know this already. The problem is if you're already addicted to it and try to quit the withdrawal is pretty bad. I know this first hand as I recently tried cutting way back as part of an effort to ultimately quit.

I really wish I could give you some advice because frankly I wish I knew what to do myself. It's just going to be really, really hard and that's all there is to it. I do know it can be done though, even through anxiety. On of my photographer friends has anxiety and a pretty bad case of it, too. She also smoked even more than I do. But she quit. It was difficult for her and there were several false starts, but right now it's been eight months since she's smoked a cigarette. Eight months. She says she feels a lot better physically and with the anxiety, too, neither of which is surprising.

Point is, I guess if we can fight through it and mentally get past the false starts (for most people there will be some) the reward is worth it. Good luck and hang in there.

Yes, Kitt, Paulos has been trying so hard to quit what he has been taking...including alcohol. But trying to do it all at once seems to cause too much stress.
