YES! I joined this site just to answer this. I've been on various SSRI s for 15 years, and we need to change them every 2 years or so. They just quit working - no one seems to know why. The good news is there is some benefit to switching to other SSRIs. I started with Prozac, switched to Paxcil, then Zoloft, then Cymbalta. BTW, Cymbalta is nasty stuff to withdraw from - much more than the others I used.
I just tried switching back to Zoloft (Cymbalta had quit working, plus was unpleasant to withdraw from. I was going to try going pill-free, which I did once for 14 months, but I started a new job and work stress got me down. My Doc put me back on Zoloft last week, just as I left for a ski trip; and I got the mother of all panic attacks. The Doc doesn't know why - he thinks maybe the altitude (6000 ft over sea level) had an effect and made the Zoloft backfire.
I'm going to look for another Doc who will work to get me pill free again. 15 years is too much, and NOTHING is worth another panic attack like that. It could be fatal. I'm been lurking at this healingwell community here:

These programs look like more work than the pills, but I suspect they're healthier.
