Just saying hello as the thread for new members asks. I've had episodic anxiety issues, I suppose depression triggered, for years and it has recently cropped up again but with new symptoms. After feeling unusual pressure in my temples, ears, eyes and other sinus areas for a few days but no mucus or cold/allergy symptoms I was getting more and more concerned.
Since it wasn't a symptom I was familiar with I of course wanted to chalk the anxiety up as actually being a justified response to something serious going wrong with me. Tonight sitting in my office alone and getting into full blown panic attack territory I took one of my last few valiums, and eventually googled "temple pressure" which had an old thread from here as one of the top results.
What a relief it was to see someone talking about nearly identical symptoms that are attributed to jaw clenching in ones sleep, which I certainly do. I also rub the roof of my mouth behind my front two teeth with my tongue in my sleep, enough that its sore all day. I've been sleeping with a mouth guard for teeth grinders, which may be encouraging the clenching although I'm not sure.
Anyway, checking out the forums here was very encouraging to me in a strange way. Made the anxiety seem smaller. And at least now I'm reasonably confident that my ears and temples aren't going to explode turning my head into a lawn sprinkler. Now to figure out how to work on this jaw clenching. There is a vague dizziness that I find the most annoying about this whole episode. Anyway, thanks all, glad to have found this site.
