I've lately been fearing death. Not really the whole dying part,since that's expect. But I mean the whole "afterlife" thing. I've been so afraid that it's kept me up at night, I have random panic attacks to where I can't breath,ect.

I need some help dealing with this,can someone help?

I know how you feel I have the fear of death to. I know it will happen some day I just don't want it to ever happen cry I wish I could help you understand why we are thinking these thoughts but I don't understand it myself.

I believe to fear death is normal..i do n its because i dont know whats on other side ya know
i hv my beliefs and ive been a good person
i just dont want to leave the world
no matter how weird it can be lol at times

live each day to the fullest
be a kind person
a good friend and do your best to leave memories with others

life has to be lived....
im doing my best at not thinking about it n enjoying my time here

i watched my father die 8 years ago in the hospital of an unexpected death ta 62 and ever since then my health anxiety has been through the roof and i have the same feelings. it's hard not to think about it but if you have a church - it's good to go and talk to someone about your fears. it might help. i have and i have a friend who is a youth pastor. it's still hard to understand but it's true - you just have to live your life and try not to think about it. make the most out of your time - you will probably never know for sure what is out there - just have hope and faith it is eternal and beautiful. i am hoping to see my father again. i miss him tons!

pray alot and try not to occupy yourself with those thoughts. :)

I agree with hazelnut86. If you belong to some type of church/synagogue, etc, I would seek guidance from them. I am Catholic and knowing, or at least choosing to believe that my family will be waiting for me in heaven, makes the thought of the afterlife a lot easier for me.

I also have a fear of death. I believe it is because my physical symptoms of anxiety and it just turns into a vicious cycle. I always look for reasurrance from family, friends and my doctor, that I'm going to be okay. I believe I have some health anxiety and I'm only 22 years old. Even though I had so many tests at the doctor done and they all came back normal, I still feel like im never going to make it to the next day. I always believe my heart is going to give out, or I will never be able to catch my breath. I just try and have to believe that I'm fine, nothing is wrong with me and live my life like before I was diagnosed with anxiety. I hope this helps you knowing that your not the only one! Stay strong!

You do not have to fear death. Accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of your life, asking Him forgiveness of your sins which He died on the Cross to save you from. John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, so that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." Next step, get yourself a Bible and find a church that teaches the whole Word of God. Read your Bible and pray to Jesus just like you're talking to a best friend, which, beloved, He is. Jesus can heal you of your torment.  When it is time for you to die, and the Lord decides when that time will be, you will go to be with Him in Heaven.  Beloved, don't fear any more.  Trust Jesus as your Savior and Lord right now.  There's also a website you can go to called crosswalk.com where you can start your new life off with all sorts of great information about the Lord Jesus.  You can also call 1-800-NeedHim and they will pray with you.

God bless and keep you in your new life with Him.

OMG Camylou,that was wonderful advice! I fear death alot too and i'm always thinking about when and where i'm going to die.I also worry about my family dieing. I lost my best friend in 1997,my grandmother. I have been having PA's and fearing death every since. For the past so many years i have been going to church and getting closer to God and it has helped me tremendously! Knowing that what you said above helps ease the fear alot,even though i still fear death sometimes. But i also know that i am saved and when i do die i will have eternal life! I guess we as people are just afraid of the unknown. Camylou i just want you to know reading your post helped me tremendously and i hope it helped some of the others as well!
