I have depression but also i have complex ptsd....  Ive had this for 25 years are better.  I do take meds plus i still see a doctor but nothing has actually helped me.  I dont sleep except maybe 5 or 6 hours aweek. and lately my temper has got really bad.. i thought i could come on here to vent and maybe gets some info on what may help some.

Hi...I'm sorry you feel so bad.  Your lack of sleep is probably playing a big part in your emotions and in your health.  If you're not taking any meds to help you sleep you should ask your doc to prescribe you some.  I had problems sleeping awhile back and was averaging an hour to an hour and a half per night.  My anxiety and anger levels were through the roof!  My doc told me to try OTC benedryl and it helped me sleep five hours a night.  It helped tremendously!  I still have anxiety but not as bad as when I wasn't sleeping well.  Sleep is very important for our bodies health as well as for our mental health.  Hope you feel better soon.  Joni

i do take meds for sleeping. its called trazadone.. i take 300 to 350 mlgs just to sleep it dont help much.. i ve been on several things for sleeping none have helped much

Is seroquel one of the medicines you've tried? When I took that it literally knocked me out for a good 9-10 hours. The weight gain side effect I could have done without, but I slept better on that than I ever have.

Hello and welcome to HealingWell.  I am sure your will find the forum supportive and helpful.

I use Trazadone and it has worked for me at 150mg for sleep.  I am sorry to hear it does not help you.

I know you will be hearing from other members.

i took seroquel but it wouldnt let me wake up when i was having nightmares..trazadone is what i ended up with.
