The last psychiatrist I saw was also a neurologist. He said that peripheral neuropathies don't move around like my burning does. Mine can also totally stop for hours and occurs inside my head, mouth, face and all over my body but it migrates.
I had been at least 20 years with no anxiety. Then in 2006 I was pushing my self hard with athletic workouts, family responsibilities and my own fragile nervous system.
I had to make an urgent trip over 1,000 miles for a sick family member. We were gone 6 weeks and when I got home I was exhausted from the drive, had been having severe dizziness and nausea. Woke up a week later at 2:00 am with my first panic attack in decades. Also had vertigo - so scared went to doctor that morning and he could find noting wrong so he sent me to an ENT specialist.
He totally misdiagnosed me - scared the crap out of me and I went home to worry. Woke up in middle of the night with every symptom of my old anxiety back plus many of my Xanax withdrawal symptoms. This was 3.5 years ago - for a long time I thought the benzo withdrawal was back after 21 years and that scared the hell out of me - now I think it is a HIGHLY sensitized nervous system but I can't take medications and can’t get it to calm down.
