I am A MESS :(

Hey ZM, that's got to be one of the toughest thing that a mom has to do. Your heart must be torn in two directions. How did your son react to his first day? If he had fun and enjoys the caregiver and other children, then it should be a little easier to drop him off tomorrow. Hopefully the lady will be prepared better as well. You shouldn't feel guilty about that situation! If she states she is open at a certain time then she should be ready for you guys! I remember how hard it was to go back to work after my second baby. I only worked part-time, and she was either with family (grandmother, aunt , or dad) or I took a babysitter w/ us to my studio, but it was still really difficult. Try to remember that you are going to school to get an education that will benefit you as an individual, and better your family as well. Take extra quality time to spend with your kids to make the time that you are at home really fantastic. But most of all don't feel guilty-it's a wasted emotion. You are a great mom and your kids know that and love you!

I am glad to read you made it through the first day.  I watched my son deal with this very problem when he took his one and only little girl to daycare at 2 1/2 months.  I am sure the Daycare really loved him as he would drop in whenever he felt like it to see how she was.  As she got older he would stop by and have lunch with her.  She is in school now and she still goes to daycare before and after school so the experience has been a good one. 

Now he stops in at school every time he is allowed to and yes my 6 foot tall baby boy now sits on the tiny little chairs with his sweet little girl and eats lunch on days parents are invited. 

Believe in your instincts and you will be fine.  It is ok to feel the separation anxiety  !  Remember you can never love a child to much.
