so why do I have such bad health anxiety?:( sometimes I think my heart is weak or something but I hold up perfectly doing intense exercise

I'm seriously scared of heart attacks, strokes, cancer you know all that stuff, am I alone? ok I know I'm not alone which is why I posted this haha I know ya guys can help me a bit with this, this place is pretty great

What can I do to overcome this?

Hey I'm right there wit you. I'm 33, my heart had ALL the tests on my heart after my P/A and I was given a clean bill of health. I had minor heart palps last night and I ignord them. At one point I asked myself where did my palps go, then they started up again. If you were given a clean bill of health from your doc, then you just have to let it go. Easier said than done I know. I've been at this for months now trying to get the hang of it. Sometimes it just helps to know that your symptoms are shrared by others, it helps me to not feel like there is anyting else wrong with me. Hope this helps, I would type more but I'm at work and my keybord i junk. Letme know if you need more insight, I'm not a doc, but I'm a quick study.

I'm having the same issues at this moment. I have no clear either. I am looking for ways as well. But I get the very same thing. I wish I could say that it has turned my world upside down but its pretty much been this way all my life. I got a new diagnosis of ocd. I have ptsd as well. I'm looking into some therapy in my area because I simply just cannot live like this anymore. I'm so concerned with dying that I'm not living. I'm just a scared shell. Wish I could help but no..you are not alone!

I have the most terrible hypochondria. I am always worried that something is not right. I already have Ulcerative Colitis and I worry what's next? I know there is no point in sitting around worrying about these things but I can't help it. I feel crappy a lot of the time and I wonder if it's due to my UC or what? I've gone to various drs and I haven't found anything else of concern. I wonder if it's all anxiety, ocd and hypochondria that is making me more exhausted or if I have something like Lupus that no one seems to check for?? Maybe it's something hard to diagnose? Maybe this fatigue is in my head but I don't think so. People insinuated that the UC is in my head, as if I would make up those symptoms. If I were going to make up an illness, that wouldn't be the one.

I don't know what to tell you guys. I think we all need to relax and take deep breaths, find something that we are passionate about and let it take us away to a place where we don't focus on these nonexistant medical issues. If you feel good and you've been checked out, you're in pretty good shape!

Good point NSSG...find something that you're passionate about, and let your good energy turn the the focus away from anxiety.

This reminded me of a cool website that I just found out about. It is a great way to do small things for our world, in just a minute a day.

Oh, one more thought on this from my admittedly weird brain...What if one day we are all sitting around the retirement homes, around age 90, smacking ourselves in the head and saying "I wish I hadn't spent my younger years worrying all the time about my health!" That would be some kind of irony!!!

I think when you have had anxiety problems in the past, we will always be "freaked out" about health conditions. I just started getting anxiety again. I am a 30 year old female. I have smoked. I took my blood pressure a week ago. And freaked myself out. Since then I haven't went to work and I am constantly worried my blood pressure is going to give me a heart attack or stroke. So, I quit smoking immediatley. And have eaten very healthy foods. Which everyone said my blood pressure wasn't even that high. But gave me the worst anxiety all week long. It was 130/90. But maybe was elevated from anxiety?? I don't know. I am not that over weight either. I weigh 130 lbs.... I feel like crap and now I know that my blood pressure is fine. This just gave me really bad anxiety and made me fell so horrible. Such a scary feeling
