sharp pains (cramping?) in muscles above my heart?

does anybody else experience this? i get it on both sides of my chest but more often the right side. Sharp pains almost like a muscle spasm, but it happens very often ...

yup yup I get those mmhmmm sometimes a big burp follows and sometimes it kind of hurts when I touch it, I bet it's just all the tension taking place in the muscles from being anxious

lol! i never end up burping but yeah it often is tender to touch... that's what i think too... it's just good to hear other people say they know what i mean so i can stop thinking it's a heart attack or something !!!

Yes, and sometimes it hurts to breathe!!! Just take long deep breaths and move around. It will go away :-) Hope you feel better!!

I get this from time to time. Yes its sore to the touch too! Its really scary! Then again I have a tremendous amount of health anxiety and everything is! But I've had it on and off for so long and been checked out really good. Its anxiety related for me. Make sure you ask a doctor and get checked just to rule out any other posiblility. It sounds just like what I sometimes get though.

yup i get it too usually right over my heart, i also get weakness in my left arm. once it was so bad the left side of my face even got numb. Been to the er for it. i also get it because of my asthma.

i had this condition for over a year off and on because i wouldn't give it a chance to heal. look up costochondritis. may be interesting.

I get them too. It is like a pin point pain on a rib or the muscle. Sound fimillar to anyone?

Yep, I get them too - sometimes it's a really sharp feeling, almost like a cramp, but other times it's more like a gigantic bubble is moving around in there. It feels like it's trying to bump my heart out of the way.

Hi there,

I get these pains too, but mostly on my left. When you said cramping I assume it's some sort of chest tightness.

Mine has been around for a while but I can't get a satisfactory answer or cure from doctors...so I don't even know what it is.

Hi There,

I have Fibromalgia, UC and Anxiety.
i have pains every where , Ribs ,Shoulder , Back ect.
it sounds like you have Chostochoidritis , it is very painful.
ask your Doctor , just to make sure.

Oh thank goodness other people know what I'm talking about lol. Does anybody else find that it gets worse when you inhale ?

Akinom - Hazelnut said the same thing. Is it treatable, do you know? Cause it's quite the annoyance.
