I am having a really bad anxiety attack right now (triggered by something..) and was about to take a xanax when I remembered reading somewhere about contraindications; I've been taking omeprazole so I dont know if it's safe? I can't find any info on it at the moment and I kinda need the xanax bad! Anyone..?

You may be a little more sedated. If Xanax sedates you quite a bit normally, you might cut the Xanax in half. Talk to your pharmacist, though. Use that website above to see if another PPI like Prevacid does the same thing.

Yeah, I checked for a Xanax/Prevacid combination and the website says no problem, but of course it says to always ask your doctor or pharmacist, which is certainly not a bad idea.

I've been on both Prevacid and Prilosec (omeprazole) and I couldn't tell much of a difference, if any.

I take Prilosec and Valium without any warnings on the prescription bottles.  It is wise to check just to be on the safe side.

I have also taken xanax while on prevacid, and currently i take protonix and xanax and they have not interaction with each other.
