So I just got back from the ER

I didn't want to worry about the chest pains anymore so I decided to go and it was confirmed I'm very healthy, surprisingly despite how nervous I was my blood pressure was really good too

it was confirmed I have acid reflux or GERD i guess, so uhh now what? anyone have experience with this and would inform me on how to deal with this thing? A nurse actually told me stress and acid go hand and hand like best friends lol

Good Morning,

You may want to see a GI specialist to confirm you have GERD and I think you have found the GERD forum. 

I have GERD but have done well on Prilosec and before that Nexium.  Insurance did not cover Nexium thus the change to Priolosec. My GERD is at it's worse when I choose the wrong foods.

I was curious about your chest pains. I get them too. My heart rate at rest is in the low 60's my bp is low 130's over mid 80's. I justed started to take wellbutrin on top of my zoloft.

Can you describe your chest pain?

Wellbutrin is awsome stuff.

3-D, I am glad that you're allright! GERD is very common, and treatable. Kitt gave you some great info, and follow up with you GP as soon as you can:)

Wellbutrin is awsome stuff.

They are very bearable but being an anxious person they still send me into panic, they are sudden and kind of sharp but don't really hurt and sometimes I can rub the muscle in that area and feel a slight tenderness oh and they come and go, I also tend to get the same pain in my left lat a bit too

I went to the ER about 11 months ago with chest pain. They diagnosed me with acute gastritis associated with GERD. I went to a GI and had an endoscope done with insertion of a 48 hr. pH monitor (this tests your acid levels over 48 hrs). Come to find out I do have acid reflux but my "pain" was associated with gallbladder disease. I also have IBS and Ulcerative Colitis... and an anxiety disorder so when they'd ask me when something hurts I couldn't quite tell them why. It's frustrating because it took NINE long months to be correctly diagnosed, all of the time none of the meds worked. I am on 20mg Nexium a day now.

What kind of chest pain did you get? and could blood work and abdomen ultrasounds reveal if gallbladder disease is the case?
