I was debating whether or not to take a b complex or a b12 supplement to help battle my anxiety. I heard the same thing that scaredy mentioned that a regular daily multi has about
enough b vitamins as you would need a day if also eating a healthy diet as well. So since I'm trying to lose weight and really get healthy, I decided to go with just a multivitamin, a b12 supplement (lozenge), and a fish oil. I haven't really seen any crazy benefits from doing this yet but I know that with any natural product it can take up to like 30-60 days to actually start seeing the benefits of taking them. So I'll let you know if I start seeing any difference.
As for the Xanax question and about how do wheen yourself off of them? It's pretty much the same as you would do for an antidepressant. Just keep reducing it in half of what you normally take. I reduced mine that way and cut it in half every week until I was down to nohting. The absolute key with doing this, is managing your fear and a trust in yourself, atleast from what I've found. I got some bad dizzy spells, confusion, dreamlike feelings, very shaky at times as well. Cannot tell you how many times during the first week of no benzos that I was so shaky at my job that I felt like I could barely hand customers back their receipts. My hands and arms were so darn shaky. The key was for me atleast, to recognize it for what it was. I promised myself I wouldn't run back to the bottle to look for relief, I told myself it's just a temporary withdrawal symptom that will eventually go away if I keep at it. I've been off benzos for about
6-7 months now and honestly I never even think about
turning back to them again. Antidepressents now are a totally different story for me, I just wheened myself off totally a week and a half ago and am dealing with some of the withdrawal symptoms now yet again. I'm questioning and battling with the fact that this is how I will feel like forever off of the meds, or if this is just a temporary withdrawal problem like I had with the benzos. I keep reminding myself that it's probably just a withdrawal phase and tryin my best to keep my head up. I've found that's the best way to deal with anything, pressin foward and keepin your head up. The more and more I learn about
anxiety, whenever I get get scared or anxious (which still happens, I don't mean to sound like a tough guy. I still get really ridiculous bouts of fear/anxiety) I just let it happen. After it fades I try to remind myself that it's alright and that I'm ok and then immediately try to do something productive to keep my mind on something else.
