Thank you to all of you wishing me well on my travel across the country...it's working! We were delayed on our red eye, resulting in me not sleeping for over 30 hrs. (I can't sleep on planes) but in spite of this, and a (mild) fear of flying, I'm keeping it together!!!;)

I am struggling a little with my schedule/routine/environment change, but no where near panicking, or the anxiety that I feared! (My consumption of chocolate and red wine may have increased but, desperate times...);)

I am sorry that my posts are sparse/short, but we don't see my husband's parents/childhood friends but once every few years, so I need to be present for the visit.

Thank you to all my friends here, you mean so much to me and I am grateful for all of your support. XOXO

Hi SC

I hope you have an enjoyable vacation. Take it one day at a time and you will have a great time. You helped talk me through my recent vacation and just knowing someone out there understands how stressful it is to leave home and regular routine helps so much. Relax, enjoy and make some good memories.

Hope you have an enjoyable trip. I live in Australia and in July am going with my husband to England and Europe for 3 months. I think the stress of this is causing my recent relapse. the thought of being away from home for 3 months, a 24 hour flight and leaving my 19 year olds alone for 3 months is just getting to me. the trip means the world to my husband so I dare not let him know my anxiety, so I know how you feel. Just talking about it makes me feel ill. ....But I guess I will get through it.

Hey there partner, 

"we don't see my husband's parents/childhood friends but once every few years" - WE could arrange for you to see them every 6 months -  oh my.......giggle.  You could take me along just to make life interesting. We could have midnight margaritas !  It is 5:00 somewhere !

The three worst things to hear in the cockpit:
The second officer says, "Oh crap!"
The first officer says, "I have an idea!"
The captain say, "Hey, watch this!"

Have fun and enjoy..............we are all thinking of you !

cool Thanks everybody!! I really appreciate your support. I can actually feel the well wishes coming my way!

I'm even enjoying the cold weather. That was actually one of my worries, but I'm doing fine when we're out (8 degrees this morning) and am actually too hot inside! (They max the heater out, we hardly turn ours on)

Going to go see more friends and relatives in a while, and it's LOBSTER DAY!!! I plan on eating two...by myself;)

8 degrees out and your having fun -  well welcome to the Nook of the North Club my friend.

I am gald to hear you are enjoying yourself and making wonderful memories - you will always remember those lobsters. 

Kidding aside,  you are doing super at dealing with your anxiety and I suspect some of it may be because you are busy and your own immediate family is right there with you. 

Good to hear from you and thanks for covering the forum too.

I bet the lobsters were good even though they lost the battle. Are you doing some sight seeing also? How is the weather? I heard a storm either is out there or coming.

Lobsters were delicious...not much sightseeing..mostly a family and friends visit. We got to see my husband's grandmother (95!) Probably for the last time she was delightful.

Weather has been beautiful...sunny and not too cold. Tonight we go to see some old frientds. Lot' s of red wine and old stories for sure;)

Thanks again for the support and letting me update! Had a bit of a shaky start this morning, but I did my breathing and all was well:)

Glad all is going well and shaky mornings are often the norm for me but yes deep breathing and a diet coke usually work for me.  Now folks I am not advocating Diet Coke - that is just what works for me.  smhair

You are missed and it is good to see you following the forum. Every bit of wisdom is welcomed.

Thanks N.B.! And thanks to all for the good vibes...had a great time, and we're (hopefully) headed home today. Snow may delay the only flight out to JFK...so please keep you fingers crossed for us!

Congratulations on having a good vacation and not letting your anxiety drive the bus !  Hope you get out of JFK today without problems.

I sure feel sorry for those lil old lobsters -  how could you ?
