herbal remedy for anxiety relief while taking meds. good or bad idea?

i am currently taking medication for my anxiety, but my uncle told me about this herbal place that is known for "curing" or helping people with anxiety/panic attacks.

of course, i am going to talk to my doctor about this first, and see what he says, but i just wanted to see what you guys thought about this, or what you all have tried and has worked, or has not worked for you all.

Bad idea! Herbal remedies for anxiety and the meds usually always have interactions

edit: I mean the doctor would know best, but back then i'd take Valerian Root and it was constantly advised to me to immediately stop if I decided to get on medications

thanks for the info 3doorsdown, i truly appreciate it. and nice to meet you, my name is jorge and i am from texas. i am 22 right now and have been suffering from anxiety ever since i was 19. and it all started with me taking an entire 5 energy shot and a mountain dew, that pretty much did it for me.

i read about your case with jack3d. i've heard from friends that take this, that it's pretty intense.

i would like to hear more from you, and let you know that i am here for social support.

jorge, I'm from texas too, and I read your other posts and we have similar situations as to how our anxiety kicked off and we both did the p90x haha I found that pretty crazy lol

I know they do not mix well. i do know omega III fish oil is a great supplement. Out of holistic approach for anx/depression massage has been great as well as physical therapy. i know many people love and get relief from acupuncture. I have tried it is was relaxing... i didn't take their supplements because of other meds i was on . It is great to find what works for you. biofeedback, deep breathing, i use many techniques i learned in pain clinics and actually in my dental hygiene classes one of our instructors also taught holistic healing medicine. It helps with some ptsd and other issues. For me a schedule helps, journaling helps and my relationship with God helps a ton.

There is always something that triggers the anxiety and depression. find out what yours are so you can feel like it isn't coming out of no where. You are going to be just fine. I have great empathy for that fight or flight feeling. I will be keeping you texans in my thoughts.

I just got my dosage of Lexapro adjusted to 40 mg. from 30 mg. and I am taking Bach's Rescue Remedy until the upped dosage kicks in. It doesn't make me sleepy like Xanax and is safe with most medicines - though ask your doc to be sure. Another good one is Sedalia which is put out by Boron, I believe. Look in your local health food store for both.

bleeehhh, anyone that comes to these forums I'd suspect are mostly just seeking help for their anxiety, I doubt some creepy stalker dude would come to an anxiety board haha you know?

I'd love to be there for anyone so I dont mind leaving my email wide open

Actually, you can google all your posts and it will come up. All the information you post on this forum, can be googled. The only thing that is not public is your profile. You have to be registered as a member to see them.

Posting your personal email address, photos, other information will be viewed by anyone on the net. Not just people who come to this site.
