Allergic reaction or stress closing your throat?

I get this feeling from time to time and I cant even tell if I'm allergic to shell fish and nuts or not! I was just eating french fries after the WORST day of my life!!!!! And it was hard to swallow! Made me think "darn maybe I'm allergic to fries too". I went to the ER twice thinking once I was allergic to shrimp and then again thinking I was allergic to nutts bc my throat felt closed up JUST LIKE IT DOES NOW. They said my throat looked fine but I still might be allergic to these things so they thought I shouldnt eat fish or nuts anymore. But now I'm having the SAME feeling from something I eat all the time and never bothered me before. Its also been the worst day of my life (long story) and I also know throat tightness is a symptom of stress and anxiety. I wish I knew the difference! I never have had my throat actually swell closed or even close. It always feels just like this. So maybe those scares where just me stressed out. How do you know the difference? I mean, if all you have is throat tightness and not any hives or anything? Well with the fish and nuts my throat felt like it iched before it felt the same swelling as it does now. My throat still feels strange right now but I dont want to go to the ER. They never gave me anything but benadryl and said they didnt see any swelling or anything. I know that would be me tonight too. I eat fries all the time! And I had such a bad day and anxiety can make you think your throat is swollen. Sorry for repeating myself! But can anyone relate in anyway? Or have advice?

I am sorry to hear your day went bad and we are here if you want to vent about your day.

I am severely allergic to Tetracycline and had an anaphylactic reaction - which came on with in a few minutes of taking the medication.  You get a feeling of doom plus your body starts to react violently ad you know you need help ASAP.

If you experience itchiness or rash, swelling of the tongue and face, if are swelling  enough that you are unable to breathe, your throat is closing in, wheezing like in asthma  call 911 or get to the ER immediately.

I am not sure about food allergy reactions but agree with SC that checking in with the asthma/allergy forum would be a great idea.

Thank you for the responses! I always know I can count on your guys to respond to my posts! I always know I'll see SC and Kitt at least :) Yes my throat and tounge does itch with the fish and the nutts. I'll post about it in the allergy group. Thanks for the advice on that! I think I already posted about the other thing. It was in all caps I think about having the stitch put in my cervix. They did it and the surgery went fine but after getting the feeling back in my legs and stomach, I noticed that I was in AGONY and have been ever since!!!!! I wish someone would talk to me about this that knows about it. Like if its normal to be in agony for a few days? When it goes away? Things like that.

It was the worst day of my life bc I was awake for the surgery and tho I did good, I felt the entire time like I couldnt breathe. I think thats because my stomach was numb so I couldnt feel it lift and release as I took breaths. And I was tilted back with the blood rushing to my head the whole time. During the surgery my heart rate went down to 40bpm for a few minutes. So my legs were numb, felt like I couldnt breathe, and they had my arms strapped down bc sometimes ppl reach down for some reason during surgery. That was all very frightening! But the agony I've been in after surgery is so bad!!!! Well its agony!!!!! Plus I cant find anyone who can help me at all with this! Well, to tell me if this is normal afterwards and when it wears off.
