I have recently switched my psychiatrist he has put me on Celexa 20 mg in the morning as well at the 1 mg klonopin 3 x a day, i do feel much better and only been on it 6 days , alough i dont like the constant grogginess, the dry mouth and the upset stomach, the thing i dont understand about this drug is after i take it im up for 14 - 15 hours and i go to bed when i wake up i have some slight vertigo, eyes are super dry and extremely hungry... anyone else on celexa have this problem after they get a good night sleep?

I've heard vertigo is common with Celexa. It could also be from anxiety. I don't know how bad your anxiety was before the meds.

I just got switched to Celexa as well. Just got up to 40 mgs and am going to 60 mgs in a few days here. Nervous about that because I get pretty groggy on each dose when it gets upped for a few days.

I also take klonopin, and it makes the grogginess even worse for a few days, but it should settle out.

If you're concerned, talk with your psychiatrist or call the nurse line at the doctors office. Otherwise you could give it another week and see if the vertigo subsides. I tend to feel off balance in the morning. It's obnoxious but I just had the dose upped from 30 to 40 mgs 4 days ago so its expected I guess.

My eyes have oddly been pretty dry too. Not sure why. The hunger is typical of an antidepressant. But you could also ask your shrink about this.

Yeah another med bites the dust, had an allergic reaction last night my poupils would not un dialate they were the size of my entire eye where i had no color in them all pupil :( they have never seen a side effect like that from what they told me. I have a very LOW tolerance for meds and the grogginess, dryness , and vertigo just made my anxiety worse grrr finally find a med that somewhat helps me be able to socialize and i have a reaction..
My anxiety is absolutely horrible i suffer from a anxiety attack all day long it never stops and on top of that i am agoraphobic.

I had pupil dilation from Paxil, then two days later lost all motor function and could not stay awake. I would fall asleep sitting up. Paxil is a terrible medication.

Celexa is typically the medication with the least side effects, what dose are you at? I wonder if they're upping it too fast or something. I have had a lot of allergic reactions to different antidepressants (trazadone, Oleptro, Zoloft, and now Paxil, also allergic to Klonodine *blood pressure med they use for anxiety*) and then there are some I can tolerate. It's all about finding the right "med" which can be annoying.

So are they taking you off the Celexa? Typically they say the pupil dilation is from the serotonin being affected in your brain and it affects I believe what is called 5HTP or something in your brain which also affects the pupil. Serotonin levels get affected and BAM pupil dilation.

Maybe prozac could be worth a try?

Anybody else taking Klonopin notice weight gain or an increase in hunger even if you just ate?!

I do not take Klonopin but do take Valium which is a drug in the same family as Klonopin.  I have not noticed any weight gain or cravings from Valium.

I know we have lots of members that use Klonopin and I am sure you will be hearing from them.

No cravings or weight gain from Klonopin here. Been on it for months.

they started me on 20 mg of the celexa , i am also allergic to meds zoloft, paxil, prozac,inderall ( a beta blocker ) , seraquil ( cause they thought i was bi polar ) and many others i have tried .. plus the celexa just made me feel like royal crud all day ... extremely tired , couldnt eat, super dry mouth and eyes i just wonder if its not anxiety i have and its something else because no medicine works.


As far as hunger on the klonopin i have been on it for 3 1/2 years and i havent noticed increased hunger, but i did notice increased hunger when i started taking a multi vitamin which is strange lol.
