What is this madness!?!?!? sometimes the right side of my face has a weird creepy crawling feeling, sometimes but not as often it's not my left side and rarely it's on the right side of my neck

This has been going on, on and off, for a long time now so I doubt it's anything serious but I am wondering what it is lol

I've even had a MRI with Contrast and CT Scan done so I'm not too scared by it but still

I do notice that, as a hypochondriac I tend to obsess and fear over 1 paticular disease and I'd get symptoms around that area of the body like at one point I feared stomach cancer and I was getting pains there and what not, and another time I feared appendencitis and somehow I'd get pains there too which was caused by gas...hehe... I feared heart disease so then i'd get chest pains, and now I fear like brain stuff and I get these tingles lol its like whooooaaaa

Hi CM,

Are you doing your deep breathing exercises? Usually when you feel tingling or numbness it's b/c you are not getting enough oxygen into your blood stream.

Take nice deep breaths through your nose and and exhale slowly through your nose. Make sure you are breathing deep enough that your belly expands on the inhale and pushes the air out on the exhale. After a few minutes of this, the tingling should subside.

Hi, I agree with D.W. that this could be paresthesia, caused by improper breathing/unconscious hyperventilation. In other words, when anxious or stressed, we tend to take quick shallow breaths which actually mess-up the ph balance of our blood, causing all sorts of symtoms. Crazy but true!

You have a good point though about the power of suggestion and what the mind can do to the body. I have to stay away from articles, books, movies, ect., about disease or illness. These are triggers for me, and though I might be able to watch a hospital drama occasionally, if I'm in a bad spot anxiety wise..forget it...it can cause me to trip!

Sounds like you have things in perspective though. Do your breathing and try not to let it bother you;)

Yes I feel like you guys are right, a time when I can recall having them is recently when I was doing lunges, and well with me leg workouts tend to tax my breathing more than just doing pull ups or something and I can find myself having to try to catch my breathe (this is anxiety related though because I'm pretty much put it in my head already that whenever I do leg exercises I get breathless but somehow with any other exercise even if it's intense I'm fine) and well yeah I was pretty much taking shallow breathes

I definitely feel that is the case with me as this has been going on for YEARS, on and off of course but always when I'm in an depressed or anxious state, so I'm not really alarmed by it or anything
