any support....I have issue I dealt with years ago...still haunts me. cant seem to get over it l-(

Hi Elisabeth and welcome! Things from our past sure have a way of impacting our today. I am sorry that whatever it was is still troubling you.

It is easier said than done to 'Live in the Moment', but the more you can practice this, the less anxiety you will experience about it. Try taking breaks during your day to practice relaxation/breathing exercises, progressive muscle relaxation, yoga, and prayer/meditation.

If you find you are having anxiety that is affecting your ability to have a happy, productive life, then you may want to consider seeking therapy for this issue. If the incident in your past was traumatic, then you could have an anxiety disorder such as PTSD, that could be relieved through therapy. There is help, and it is very treatable!

Welcome to HealingWell. I understand where you are coming from and what you are going through. I have experienced trauma in the past and often times the rememberance of the trauma just pops into my mind.

Music has been and always will be my saving grace. Put the headphones on, and 'tune out'!

I also see a therapist to help me deal with the anxiety that comes with remembering the past as well and learning ways to stop the memories from overwhelming me.

Try and remember you got through it once! youve seen the light at the end of the tunnel so to speak! how did you managed to get over your issues the first time around?

I have had depression many many years. 4 months ago I have had panic attacks every morning. It lasts until about 3:PM and goes away. Only one that has this 'attack' knows what I am going through. Haven't had success with anything. shakehead

Very true! I have an awesome family, and wonderful friends, but this community is crucial to me. It helps relieve the isolation that one inevitably feels when dealing with A/P.

We stick together and fight as one!:)

Been treated for PTSD before. I know it is treatable some how... Just keep your chin up you have found a great site!

Needs, I soooo understand! I am going through similar situation myself. I remember making stops the whole way to work because panic attacks would trigger my crohns, it was awful! "facing the day" are you seeing a dr for your anxiety? Once I went on meds everything changed. Everybody said I was so much better. Maybe it is time for you to take that route. Even if you are against taking meeds just knowing you have an anxiety pill there helps. Just keep talking to us! We are here for a reason!

Thanks so much for your concern. No one knows how panic attacks cripple, only the people that has them.
