Jnm312,
Hello, I'm Serenitee...I thought I would welcome you here to the Healingwell Site. This site has amazing people that give so much information, support, and friendships.
I started having anxiety and worry about anything and everything when I was like 4-years old. I began going to the bathroom and having diarrhea. This continued getting worse and when I was 6-years old went thru a traumatic test in the Doctor's office. Which resulted in a diagnosis of intestinal ulcers caused by Anxiety and Worry. The Doctor couldn't understand what a 6 year old had to worry about. Well, this just proceeded to get worse and I became afraid to go to the bathroom cause I associated it with extreme pain. Throughout my toddler, teen, and adult years things progressively got worse. Anything I worried about (which was everything) I was stuck in the bathroom for hours. Over the years just going to the school to drop or pick up my kids, going to the grocery store, going anywhere caused me to be in the bathroom for hours each day. It ran my life, I couldn't go anywhere without carrying a porta-potty with me...Even if I was just going a few blocks. I worried about worrying. May 2011, I had to have a Loop ileostomy.
My anxiety causes so much physical pain...And it feels like it controls me, I can't seem to control it. It is so debilitating to live a normal life. I now have anxiety and panic attacks daily, and they even wake me up in the middle of the night in a anxiety or panic attack. They're horrible.
If you can't get a hold of it on your own I really recommend seeing a therapist or psychiatrist. And talking with others that suffer really helps and validates what your feeling and going thru.
Look forward to chatting with you more. If you click on my name it will take you to my profile which has my email address and you can write me if you want.
Prayers and Blessings sent your way.
Your Healingwell Friend,
Serenitee
