 i suffer from ptsd as a result of a traumatic chilhood and a near death accident as an adult . i would like to post on this group due to the resulting anxiety that i suffer from but i don't know if it's appropriate . it's difficult to navigate a new support group especially when u want to be empathetic to other people's feelings . at the risk of being graphic i would certainly preface my posts with the word trigger boldy . there no groups for ptsd . is that on purpose ? i'm very grateful that there are moderators on this site but i would rather not start my post at all if it doesn't belong here in the first place . i so appreciate your assistance .

Hi S.S. We don't have a seperate forum for PTSD here, because we are a broad website encompasing many chronic diseases/disorders, and since PTSD is within the anxiety spectrum, it is included under the more general heading.

We do strive to help and support any and all persons suffering with traumatic past experiences, yet at the same time do have a 'Family Friendly' atmosphere here. We have underage members, and because of such, have set up the parameters as all age appropriate.

On the main page, 2nd post, you will find the HW rules. Feel free to post anything within the rule guidelines. If your past includes something that you need to speak about, and is more graphic in nature, then there may be another site that could better help you.

I truly appreciate your sensitivity and respect in asking these things in advance. We would love to have you continue to post with us if you think that we could help:) We do have many members who suffer with PTSD, and I am sure that they would like to get a chance to meet you.

thanx so much for the prompt reply . i think i'll just watch for awhile to see what the other suffererers of ptsd post unless i have a gad quetion and i have many . my ptsd always has and continues to confuse me . i realize it is a very personal sensitive subject and that is why i asked before i spoke .

i unsubsribed to a post and now i don't know how to subscribe to it . someone explained it to me but i still don't get it . pls . give it to me in baby steps . a sxar on my brain makes instructions very difficult .thanks ....i can't even find that post now . does it matter that i can't name the post ?

Did you hit on the ignore icon...the 'thumbs down'?

Try going to the top of the page (left side), and get into the 'My Profile' section. On that page, you should just be able to unclick the ignore icon, and you'll be able to view the thread again. Try that and let me know if it works.

did i figure it out ? i guess i did if i got your e-mail !!! duh !!!not very nice , scaredy cat . i was depending on you moderators to be extra nice to us needy people .well, it's o.k. as long as u just laugh at me for awhile . now if someone could only teach me how to type i would be o.k....s.s.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be unkind. We joke around sometimes like the friends that we are here. I forget to take into account that not everybody thinks that it's funny. I will be more sensitive in the future.
