Hi Bam, sorry to hear that you got blindsided with the anxiety symptoms...yeah it can sneak up on you. This is where I struggle the most, because I can see the logical cause and effect of stress=symptoms...it makes sense right? It is even beneficial to have some adrenalin when needed.
However, when the symptoms come out of nowhere, it is disturbing! I think that is why so many people either fear 'losing it' mentally, or have health anxiety. Our brains are trying to attach a logical reason for the strange and frightening sensations that we are experiencing.
The truth is, many people with anxiety are either extra sensitive to the symptoms that it causes, or we trigger easily, or both. Either way, the important thing to remember is that you can reduce your symptoms by practicing your coping mechanisms, not only at the time of an attack, but preventively, every day!
I hope that you can get these symptoms to quiet down soon. Good job on coming here and posting about it, sometimes that's all it takes to defuse the anxious feelings:)
Be well,
S.C.
