pvcs are back - ugh

ok i have periods where i get pvcs more than usual and now it one of them. 

i made peanut butter and honey balls last night before bed and ate like 3 of them.  this morning they are awful.  i also took zyrtec which never bothers me.  why now?  can honey cause them?  i know it a natural sugar but isn't that better than white sugar?  they are horrible this morning. 

and i also ate like 4 hard candies yesterday.  not bad though.  i hate these things.

Hazel, are you due for your "friend" anytime soon? I get like this, and get palps pretty bad, within the 10 days leading up to my "friend". It's no fun at all. Tends to bring on a panic attack sometimes. Just a thought....

i am on the 15th day - may be ovulating.  i used to could be really able to tell but the last few months, not so much at all.  weird. this used to happen on days 11 or 12 of my cycle.  ugh 

i had jalepenos last night on a breakfast burrito.  i'm wondering if it has something to do with what i ate.  geez who knows.  wish i had a "quiet" heart.

ME TOO! I am one to notice EVERY little thing that my heart does. Whether it's just beating hard, racing, or just skipping a beat. I have severe health anxiety over my heart because one of my grandmothers had a stroke that left her paralyzed on one side of her body and she ended up in a wheelchair until she died. The other grandmother had a stroke, but fully recovered, plus she had a heart attack and had to have quadruple bipass surgery on her heart, she died at 72. My father had congestive heart failure already (he's still living, 64 years old now), and his father and uncles all died from massive heart attacks in their 40's or early 50's. So yea, I'm quite paranoid when it comes to my heart. I know exactly how you feel. I've had tests run on 2 occasions now, about 10 years ago I had an EKG, echocardiogram, and holter monitor, and blood work. Everything was fine. And last month, I had an EKG and blood work, and that all was fine too. But I can't help but be paranoid about it. It SUCKS!

I have been having PVCs and tightness in my chest for the past week.... seems like my heart is either rapidly beating or skipping..... it really makes me very anxious and sometimes brings on a panic attack. It really ruins my whole day.....It really does suck! I hate these feelings UGH!

oh fox - i can imagine. i watched my dad die of liver failure and pnemonia in a time period of 5 days in 2002 and ever since my health anxiety has gone way up! in fact, i don't remember having it really before.
i get tired and freak out and check my blood pressure and hr. it used to beat fast at times but now when it gets to under 70, i freak out too. go figure. ha

LOL! Hazel, that's how I get too! My heart rate was at a steady 100 bpm while at rest because of all the anxiety, and when I get palpitations it goes up to like 120-130, but when I get it down, I start freaking out that it's going too slow! Haha! I never thought there would be anyone like me with that. I'm always checking my BP too, because my anxiety has it elevated to 140/90 most of the time. That's a little jump from what it normally was. So i'm always worried about that too. My doc is not concerned about it because he says it's just from the anxiety, and when the meds start working it should come back down. So we'll see. Isn't life Grand! LOL

i feel so much better after reading your posts!!!  i have been taking my BP for the last 15 minutes and it and my heartrate is elevated because i am so anxious!!  i thought i was the only person that freaks out so much about every little symptom!   thank you for being here...... eyes   this forum is a great place!

Macie, this forum really IS a great place! I love being able to talk to people that actually know what the hell i'm talking about! If you sit there with a person that doesn't have anxiety or panic attacks and try to describe it they really have no clue what you're talking about. My husband had a whopper of a panic attack one day (and I swear it was from me WISHING he could feel like me for ONE day.....*evil little laugh*) and now he totally understands. I did feel really bad for him though, because I know what he was going through. So I gave him a xanax and it knocked him out! He told me when he woke up that he doesn't know how I can take 2-3 of them in one day. I said "because I have extremely high anxiety ALL the time, and all it does for me is calm me down to where I feel good". LOL! It was pretty funny though, I was expecting him to start drooling. Hehehehe! Iknow, i'm bad! LOL!

oh Fox.....

that is too funny!!  I loved it!!  My hubby never has been able to understand how i felt either..... really who does???  When i first started getting panic atacks 25-26 years ago... the docs were treating me for ear infections.. flu you name it! They never said "panic attacks" back then.. thank God the are quicker to pick up on it! i feel so at home here talking to you about anything!!  thanks again!

fox - you sound exactly like me. ha i hate it.

ok now my 5 yr old just fell asleep on his own before shower time - strange for him. his nose is super stuffy and he didn't eat as much as he usually does. he said his mouth is super dry. i think he hasn't drank enough today.

well i just checked HIS pulse cause i can see it beating through his shirt and his rate is like 114 asleep. is this normal? ugh great, now i'm freaking out about his heartrate. i hope he's not getting sick. and i hope he's not dehydrated. i asked him what he has drank all day and he said 2 milks at breakfast and lunch. i made him drink a whole glass of water with dinner but his hr is making me nervous. what is normal for his age? only think i've given him is allegra.

LOL!!! You crack me up with "ugh great, now i'm freaking out about his heart rate"! That sounds like something I would do too. But here, I found this for you.......

What is the normal heart rate for a 5 year old?
80-120 bpm. As age increases, your heart rate should decrease.


You can calm down now. Take a xanax and relax, it's all good! :)

i researched it too but there are so many diff charts with diff numbers.  he was sleeping though when i checked it but had just fallen asleep.  then he woke up in a night terror like 30 minutes after he fell asleep and i put my head up to his chest and it was flying!  night terrors suck!

i had to take 1/2 a  klonopin after work - never do but can't stand my neck pain.  thought it might relax me.  was good all day until about 4:00 and then it started hurting again.  might be this weather change too.  we are getting cold weather tonite.  i just hope my baby isn't getting sick.  :P

what do you take for your anxiety?  i only take buspar atnight now.  afraid of side affects of any ssris cause i have tried 2 and they make me feel worse.

First question...Yes I have 3 kids, and a 4 y/o granddaughter! I was a grandma at 35! (or as she would say "Gammy") Haha! I love her!

Second question... I was on xanax alone for about 4 months, but I feel my body is becoming dependant on them, so I just started back on Zoloft 2 weeks ago, and I still take xanax twice a day until the side effects from the Zoloft subside, then i'm going to wean off of the xanax and take them as needed, which probably will be never, but just to have them around eases my mind a bit. But the Zoloft has always worked extremely well for me, never had an anxiety or panic attacks while taking it. I actually feel normal when i'm on it! I have taken it off and on for the past ten years, so this time I think i'll just stay on it. Seems that every time I go off of it i'm good for a year or so but then everything comes back full force.

And the third thing I want to add for you is this...There was a psychiatrist that said if you do get increased anxiety at the start of an SSRI, it is usually a good sign that your condition will ultimately respond well to the treatment. I know it's very uncomfortable in the beginning, but it does get better, trust me!

how long does it take for zoloft to kick in? i tried lexapro and i felt so hyper and wired - only lasted 4 days - icouldn't stand it. i had a review at work and thought i was going to freak out during it. i couldn't work and deal with it.
i took remeron years ago but i gained weight. i remember it just made me sleep so well.
my doc prescribed me effexor but have heard horror stories about it. ugh

well, taking my son to the dr. he whined all night and now his throat hurts now and has white spots. he gets strep every 6 months or so and needs his tonsils out but has a high ded. and surgery scares me so much for him. i know it's routine but i work in law and have seen so many med mal cases where normal surgeries go wrong. such high risks. can't believe some people elect to have cosmetic surgery. they are crazy. ha

so i called my work and told them and i had tomorrow scheduled off. she was like "oh yeah. hmmm." i said i can't do anything about it. grrrrr lovely having a sick kid and no time off. sucks. his dad works late and sleeps til like noon so he's no help. i have no family in town. his dad's parents but they are too selfish to want to help and who wants to watch a sick kid anyway?

It takes a few weeks to kick in, but I'd strongly suggest xanax or something as an aid in those first few weeks. SSRI's usually do increase your anxiety at first, but when it starts working, you feel really good. I've only been on it for 2 weeks now and I can tell that my anxiety/panic has subsided greatly compared to what I was like before I started. Even my doc told me the other day that I look great compared to the first day I came in to get back on them. I was a hot mess! LOL! So far i've only had about 3 panic attacks (2 of them were nocturnal) and they only lasted about 10 minutes each, whereas before I was getting them every day, a few times a day. It always took me a good hour to get through one and calm myself down, now it's like ok i'll wait out the 10 minutes without getting totally hysterical about it. LOL! If that's the route you want to go, I wish you the best of luck. The side effects of these meds are yucky at first, but the reward after they start working is great! I would trade few weeks of being uncomfortable for years of calmness & peace anyday!
