I was wondering if hyptotism could help control the crazy thoughts we have concerning our health issues. I know I make myself have symptoms. I can feel fine and then think, I wonder if my stomach ache will come back, and sure enough in five minutes or so the cramps start. I will try anything to change my thought patterns. Anxiety is a bad bad disorder.
Excuse my spelling, can't think this evening.

Yes, I tried hypnotism years ago and my therapist taught me how to practice a method on my own. Somewhere along the way when I was better I quit using this method.
It is certainly worth a try.

Waaaay back in my first natural childbirth class, the instructor led us through a meditative/hypnotic exercise. I felt the most profound sense of relaxation I had ever felt before or after! I think that the building could have collapsed and I would not have noticed!
It must have worked because I had both of my girls without pain blocks, and while I have never gotten into that deep state again, I would say that if hypnosis can bring you there...then it could work for anxiety.
The only thing that I would be concerned about
is, how does it work when you are not in a hypnosis state? Is there a carry-over effect? When I was at my worst place anxiety-wise...I would've have to have been 'under' 24/7!
I think that using CBT skills might be a little more applicable? IDK:)
Look into it and let us know what you find out!

I would love to go back to CBT, but my insurance won't pay for it anymore and I really can't afford it since my hubbie takes so many expensive meds for his diabettes. He is in the medicare doughnut hole and insulin is so high. He has to take two different kinds plus pills with no generic.

I can say that I had the same problems just like you, and I did 5 sessions of hypnosis with good results. The anxiety it's only in our head, everything comes from our brain. I don't know if hypnosis is going to work for you, but it helped me, and it made me feel better. So, good luck!
