has anyone had any good luck with celexa
my dr today put me on it for panic attacks
i tried zoloft months ago but had toget off it make me sick after a week
im taking half a celexa for a week then a full
please for my own sanity dont post negative effects if youve had any

Celexa was the first medication I was on and it worked well. I can't remember much in the way of side effects. I had to switch though, because we later realized that I needed an SNRI rather than an SSRI (which is what celexa is). A friend of mine has been on celexa for years and it works well for her as well.

thank you .. whats the difference between ssri and snri
im guessing i need ssri
i get nervous and panicky in public or when i start to worry about my seizure disorder then my blood pressure goes up then i have a full on panic attack
just started in oct

Ameyers,

In one of your last posts you were inquiring about natural treatments for anxiety, so I just wanted to remind you of possible interactions.

Whenever you are mixing medications, natural or otherwise, you must always consult with your doctor to make sure that it is safe in combination with other things.

I do believe that some people have successfully done both Rx and suppliments/natural remedies, but with a doctor's approval:)

An SSRI is works on serotonin while an SNRI works on both serotonin and norepinephrine. Unfortunately, the SNRI's stopped working as well and now I'm on Wellbutrin which is an NDRI, which works on norepinephrine and dopamine.

ok so im hoping i wont feel as axious on celexa and i wont panic
gonna pray and keep figers crossed
heard good things about it
i hated zoloft

I have been on celexa for 2.5 months, started out with 10 mg for the first 30 days and upped to 20 mg , i didnt have many side effects at all and it has helped me:) the one side effect that i get are hot flashes, i would get them not knowing what or why they were happening, my doctor reassured me its the meds, thank goodness i thought it was menopause and im 35... Lol good luck, the celexa has definatley helped me

I was on Celexa until the first of December when I was switched to Zoloft as my Dr. was adding a med that was not compatible with Celexa.  I liked the celexa better then the Zoloft but it could be that I am still working on switching the meds. 

I think you may be surprised how well Celexa works.

Give it plenty of time to reach it's therapeutic level.

that makes me feel alot better
i myself was on zoloft for a week but it was too strong
the dumb dr in my old state started me on full dose first day
