I am having random bouts of numbness in my face primarily in the left but sometimes the right side as well. It is accompanied by a strained feeling in my neck and been off and on for a few days. I went to urgent card and all and they gave me anxiety meds but with my anxiety being health related I can't seem to ignore this. Does any one else have this happen regularly??? Help-freaking out

I have heard of this from many members, and read about
it in various anxiety symptom listings...however, since you also mentioned the strained neck, I am wondering if you have something like a compressed nerve that could be causing the numbness.
It is not cause for alarm, but something that you may want to get checked out, so that you can get treatment and get better. Even something like a pulled muscle can swell, putting temporary pressure on a nerve, which in turn will cause numbness in a referred area such as the face/head.
Most of the time these things will improve on their own with time, but like I said it would be good to have it looked at by your doctor, who can tell you for sure what is going on.:)
I hope that you get the answers that you need soon! Let us know how you are doing later.

I get the numbness too. I always thought it was from an old neck injury but since visiting this forum I'm learning that a lot of my symptoms are likely linked to anxiety/depression.

Yes:) anxiety is a hard thing to deal with.. for anyone. i am only seventeen and i have had it my whole life, but only recently have i been
having anxiety attacks/panic attacks. Very scary! but it gets better.. with time & exercise and the right nutrition and possibly medicine. I am
taking Zoloft have been for about
a month now. seems to be working.. makes me tired and not sooo stressed, which is a good thing :)
does anyone take anything for their anxiety/depression?! ...

Happens to me all the time. I just had a bout with it that lasted all day, every day, for a good week or more until it finally went away. It is definately a symptom of anxiety. If the doctors at the ER weren't too concerned with it, then i'd say you're in the clear. It's nothing to worry about
, it happens to alot of us.... Hope this makes you feel better!
amdam22.... I take Zoloft also, as well as xanax, for my disorders.
