Numbness in face coming and going

I have heard of this from many members, and read about it in various anxiety symptom listings...however, since you also mentioned the strained neck, I am wondering if you have something like a compressed nerve that could be causing the numbness.

It is not cause for alarm, but something that you may want to get checked out, so that you can get treatment and get better. Even something like a pulled muscle can swell, putting temporary pressure on a nerve, which in turn will cause numbness in a referred area such as the face/head.

Most of the time these things will improve on their own with time, but like I said it would be good to have it looked at by your doctor, who can tell you for sure what is going on.:)

I get the numbness too. I always thought it was from an old neck injury but since visiting this forum I'm learning that a lot of my symptoms are likely linked to anxiety/depression.

Happens to me all the time. I just had a bout with it that lasted all day, every day, for a good week or more until it finally went away. It is definately a symptom of anxiety. If the doctors at the ER weren't too concerned with it, then i'd say you're in the clear. It's nothing to worry about, it happens to alot of us.... Hope this makes you feel better!
