back to ER tonihght

they replaced my ativan with xanax

they said i shouldnot have ativan withdrwals but im start xanax and they said its all most the same meds so do you guys believe this can i swith meds

i had been taking 1mg of ativan a day

Yes, you can switch meds. I have been taking xanax for 8 months now, but when I was at the ER in September and November they gave me 1 mg of Ativan through IV, and I was taking xanax at the time. Nothing is going to happen to you from switching right over. Hope this makes you feel better!

1 mg of ativan equals roughly 0.5 mg of xanax. What dose is you xanax?  Each person will respond differently to the benzos.  I do well with a very small dose of Valium.

Be sure to ask your Dr. if you are having questions re these 2 meds.

i have been taking ativan 1mg cut in half a day
they gave me 0.5mg of xanax
said i wouldnt withdraw from ativan as long as i take the xanax

random question but in ER...how long do you sit to wait to be seen?

I went the last time about a year ago and waited for 7 hours before being sent to a different hospital.

Wow! That was short...I would say the average would be a couple of hours. CW yours was really long, and ameyers' was really quick!
