anxiety worsens before/during period?

i get like this when my period is due then after as well is this normal pls why do i get so anxious

Wow, this is a really great topic since we women have to deal with it every single, gosh darn month. Here is my experience and how I've learned to deal with it. The two weeks before my period starts is the beginning of my emotional roller coaster. I begin to be anxious because I know what's coming. Soon, I get agitated and annoyed by anything and everything. The smallest thing can really set me off into my angry phase and at that point I will say or do something I will soon regret. Then my period finally starts and I end with the depression phase where I cry, endure feelings of hopelessness, not wanting to get out of bed and unfortunately thoughts of suicide. I've never attempted suicide but I can count on these thoughts and feelings every month. My inability to regulate these emotions has gotten me fired from a couple of jobs. I was diagnosed with Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) and Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). What I've learned from all my years of suffering from this and from my past year of implementing what I've learned from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is to have a plan. I call it My Disorder Prevention Plan and it consists of a daily schedule that starts with a mindfulness exercise, eating/drinking healthy throughout the day, physical exercise (even if it's just for 20 min), spending time outside/getting fresh air, laughter (watching a funny movie) and self-soothing strategies (candles, bath, calming music). And then I finish the day with another mindfulness exercise. The hardest part for me is forcing myself to do these things but, once I start, I find that I feel really good about what I'm doing for myself and I keep going. I really wanted to share my experience and I hope that by sharing I could help someone else out there who struggles with PMS and unstable emotions the way I do.

Girls:I wonder if the subconscious mind is messing with you again, not fight or flight, but possibility
a subconscious disappointment in the realization that you are not carrying a new baby?
The reason I say that is I have heard women talking when I was a small boy and some even cried and
felt like they were some kind of a failure for not being with child! (remember I'm saying subconscious)

O yea my anxiety and depression seem to get worse on my monthly cycle I don't know what to do yes I take Valium 2.5 as needed and it does help a little but I get heart population anxious I feel I am no good for anyone sometimes I even think I am a bad mom and a bad wife and I should not go trough this it all started when I had my second child at age 19 it totally went away for 6 years and now the monster came back and it's even worse it's been 3 years and it's not going away I am on meds but it gets worst on my periods can't sleep anxious heart pounding chocking sensations etc..... I just feel I wanna be in bed and not getting up to deal with it but I hope this will monster will get better any advice please thank you

Welcome CherryKisses ( cute nickname :) We are happy you found us, but I'm so sorry you are dealing with anxiety. This is an awesome forum, full of caring people that understand what you are going thru.
