Abilify? Something Else? What?

I went to the therapist yesterday. She's a sweet girl, but it's just not for me. However, I will see for a bit longer before stopping therapy. I truly believe that I need some medicine adjustment or such. The doc suggested we add abilify to my paxil or try another AD completely. I've been reading online about Abilify and it gives me some concerns. I did read some positive reviews, but more seemed negative...so it scares me. I am on Vistaril, but it is NOT like Xanax. It is a sedative and with my sleep apnea, that's not so great! I'm sleepy enough as it is!
Does anyone else have any history with Abilify?

I was on abilify and had horrible side effects, in fact abilify is what caused me to start having panic attacks. Basically you should talk to your gp or psychiatrist about it. Obviously im no doctor, but I don't really understand why people get readily prescribed abilify etc for depression and anxiety so quickly. Its an anti psychotic so its not to be taken lightly.
If your AD isn't working maybe try a different one.

What are your problems? i'm assuming you just have panic attacks because you posted here? or do you have depression or something else?

Chances are it could help you, the thing is anti-psychotics are horrible meds which cant be taken lightly and the benefits and risks have to be weighed up. Docs don't really know how they work and they can have horrible side effects worse than any AD.

If you just have anxiety/panic issues and a bit of depression then i think its much better to try another AD if you can. It'll cost a lot less as well.
