Hi Kris and welcome! I think that insomnia and anxiety go together. Anxiety/stress causes physical complications, which then spark more anxiety, and on goes the cycle.
Here are some tips for beating sleeplessness:
Exercise-get a good heart pumping work-out, but no later than 2-3 hrs. before bed
Eat dinner earlier-no food 2-3 hrs before bed.
Use your bed for sleeping, not hanging out, or watching t.v.-this way your body/mind are conditioned to sleep when you get into bed.
No T.V./computer before bed, let your body/mind naturally wind down and get into sleep-mode by reading, listening to (quiet ) music, doing other peaceful activities.
Good luck, I hope you can get the rest that you need. Stick around and post questions, comments, or just share anytime!
Kindly,
Kitt
