Hi PH,
Well, hobbies and activities that interest you, and take your mind away from your worries are great. Everyone's interests are of course different, so finding what works for you is key.
We recently had a thread about
anxiety reducing activities that was fun...I'll look it up and put the link at the end of this post.
Exercise and nutrition also play into anxiety management. The better you treat your body....the healthier you will be in general, physically and mentally.
Positive self-talk is essential. A lot of anxiety can be attributed to negative thinking, which is often rooted in the negative things we allow in our thoughts and in the way we speak to ourselves...so counter these with positive mantras as often as possible!
Self-help is something that I also found really helpful. I checked out about
every book in my library about
A/P and really got informed. I then took what I thought was going to be helpful to me, and essentially customed tailored a coping plan for myself. ( I also went through therapy, which also helped tremendously)
Everyone's treatment plan will be different, because we are all wired up differently, but here are some ideas to start with! You will find as you go along, what really works for you as an individual!
Glad to see you still with us...keep posting if you find it helpful.:)
