Hi fellow anxiety peeps. I am constantly looking for good advise on how to handle anxiety. I do believe, in part any way, that anxiety is a by-product of an "over thinking" mind. I grew up a worry wart and a ruminator. While I think this was a coping mechanism I acquired from growing up as I did, I feel as an adult it has certainly not served me well.
Ultimately these two characteristics, I feel, are part of the recipe for anxiety and panic attacks. Add a strong dose of relentless stress, and over time you have cooked yourself a big serving of anxiety with a side dish of panic.
In my never ending quest for natural solutions so that I can stop taking klonopin most days, I continue to read different books, along with occassional therapy, exercise, etc...
My latest read is by Sameet M. Kumar and is titled "the mindful path through worry and rumination." Forgive me if this book has been recommended and/or mentioned on this site before. I feel it must have been. In any case, I have found it to be a good read. Putting the advice into action is always the challenge. It does lean on buddism here and there, but I find those beliefs to be more on realism and common sense rather than an organized, structured faith (born and raised catholic, so that's why I mention that). Wanted to put that disclosure in there
Here's to all of us finding a natural path towards freedom from this very uncomfortable affliction!!! Virgo girl
