Celexa

A 10mg dose which is not generally thought to be a therapeutic dose for normal adults is often a good place to start with this med and then move up to 20 mg under your Drs. supervision.  I started this med at 20 mg and tolerated it well - I also like this med however I had to discontinue using this med when I started on another med that was not compatible with Celexa.

Please remember I am not a Dr. but my P-doc has often let me ease onto a med by slower increments rather than just doubling doses.

Good luck and remember to set aside this time of increasing your med to just be kind to yourself and believe that you will be OK.

well upping the dose seemed to take away the head rushes but the 20mg was a little to string at once so now im back down to 15mg
i think the 10mg took the panicking feeling away for the past 6 months but a higher dose will hopfully help even more

Everyone is different and I dont want to discourage someone from taking something that can help them. I just got home from the hospital because Celexa (3 days at 10 mg) made me get severe headaches and my head felt like it was on fire. It was very scary and ended up in the ER with the worst headache Ive ever had. Stayed the night and they did MRI in the morning. Which thank God was normal. They said I had an adverse reaction to the meds. SSRI dont seem to work for me, so Im at a lost what to do from here. I wish you all good health and felt the Celexa was helping with the anxiety. Stinks it effected me like that.

Was on celexa for months. when moved up I got a little spacey for a few days.. its all good. I didnt mind the spacey feeling compared to the dreaded anxiety and "whatif" lifestyle I lived !
