Yep, it is the
Cortisol connection to anxiety. Cortisol, a stress hormone is at its highest first thing in the morning upon awakening.
It is actually essential, as it is the thing that gets us up, moving and motivated after sleeping all night.
However, those of us with anxiety either make too much of it, or are sensitive to it...so extra anxiety.
