Hugs right back at you!:)
It can be scary and confusing to distinguish panic from a more serious condition, such as a cardio episode. When you look up the symptoms for each, there are so many that overlap.
However, knowing your history of anxiety/panic and the fact that most of your symptoms were relieved by the antacid...it points to the fact that you are probably dealing with hearburn.
Pain in the chest is not uncommon with acid reflux. The gastric contents flow up into the esophagus causing pain to radiate in the upper chest area.
Zantac taken during the first onset of symptoms may be of more help than the tums...ask your doctor if this seems like a good treatment option for you.:)
Try not to worry about it if you can...stress will only increase stomach acid.
I hope that you start to feel better soon, and know that we all understand the fear that physical symptoms of anxiety can bring.
Talk to you soon,
S.C.
