Hi brooke and welcome.
I am so sorry to hear of your recent troubles with work. I do think that you need to take a little time and celebrate the fact that you got a job and tried your best...that is a huge deal, and you took a step in the right direction!
It may not have worked out this time, but there will be other oppurtunities. Once you can get a little more adept at managing your anxiety/symptoms, you can try to get back to work again...and you will have a much easier time.
Self-help sounds like it is the best choice for you at the moment. Even without insurance, you have the option of free on-line therapy, as well as books and lots of good options in our Resource Guide here. You can find it on our main page, 1st post. The on-line therapy link is here:
https://www.moodgym.anu.edu.au/welcomeAlso pratice the breathing and relaxation exercises provided in the links. Doing these daily can prevent and/or stop an attack if you practice/use the techniques daily!
If you think that you need help with regarding alcohol dependency...and I am not making a judgement...just another suggestion, then contacting an AA chapter could help you not only with this...but it could connect you with other resources to help with the anxiety issue as well. (this could be a two birds with one stone kind of thing!)
Keep posting here with us as well. It is good to talk to others who understand...and we are here to listen and support!
Talk to you soon.
