This is an interesting topic!
You are right when you say that we are prediposed to anxiety...it is a natural suvival instinct afterall...the problems come when our filters aren't functioning at full power.
My therapist once told me that highly intellient/inquisitive people are prone to anxiety. Why? Danger/illness/calamity are all a threat at any given time. We really have little control over our fates. Most people just go about their lives with sufficient ability to push past this reality, rarely thinking about such things...
...but for some of us, we see the possibilities all to clearly. Of course there are other things that factor in to anxiety (chemical imbalances, past trauma, ect.) But being a person who is considered a 'thinker' seems to be a common denominator for us 'anxies'
Well, we take the good with the bad, eh?
Your coping mechanisms are good ones...I like exercising, and playing games...volunteering and being artistic in different ways as my decompressing activities.;)
Good post, thanks!
