Hey all,
I know it's been a long time since I last checked in. Been trying my hardest to ignore my symptoms and just go about my life. It has been working pretty good, and I think my recent job change helped a lot too. Although I've been told from many co-workers that I am a great people person, I always felt extremely anxious and nervous in those situations. I have a back office job now and my anxiety has been so much better since the move.
Anyways, I have been trying to get healthy since the new year. Trying to stick to a bunch of resolutions, and number one of all of them is getting fit and completely healthy. A recurring theme I have had all throughout my anxiety struggles through these past couple of years has been digestive problems. I never really brought this up to my primary doctor, but my therapist (when I was seeing one) said it sounded ilke IBS and it is often a side affect of anxiety patients.
I typically drink like 4-5 small cups of coffee a day. It's not a lot but I've been trying to get healthier and cut out anything bad in my diet in a last resort attempt to get my digestive system back in order. Eating salads for lunch everyday now, dinners are very bland and plain, try to not use much dairy or anything that could upset my stomach. It has been working and I've definitely been noticing improvements. The only issue still though is that I want to cut out the caffeine from coffee. I don't like decaf so that's not an option. I heard tea has even more caffeine than coffee so that doesn't sound ilke an option. The one tea I read about that doesn't is chamomile tea and on the site I was able to find it said by drinking 4 cups per day it may help relieve anxiety and digestive issues. That sounds like a good combo for me! Only thing is I read that it also promotes sleep, I don't need to be falling asleep at work lol. Anyone have any tips on some healthy morning substitutes for a coffee addict that doesn't have caffeine?
