Hi H.D. and welcome!
I can't give you actual personal experience with this question, but I can offer some encouragement and knowledge as to what I have learned about A/D medications from reading/research on them.
Anticipating side effects is natural...after all, the Rx was prescribed in part to treat anxiety, right? So of course you have concerns...however, you will be a step ahead if you can keep your focus away from expecting any s/e's...and instead stay in a positive frame of mind. Expecting only good things, and benefitting from your medication goes a long way in ensuring a smooth transition onto your Rx!
Every individual will have their own unique experience with any medication...so take any feedback with a grain of salt, so to speak. What it comes down to is this...you will just have to find what works for you.
Hopefully, this will be a winner for you. If by chance it is not, then there are other SSRI's that you can try...so don't give up, and hang in there.
Most medication (in this family) takes an average of 6-10 weeks to build up and level off in the system. You will want to take it regularly, and be patient with the med and yourself.:)
There are other treatment options that you may want to consider as well if you haven't already....therapy and/or self-help work well in conjunction with medication to manage A/D issues. We have some great ideas in our Resource Guide here, (main page, 1st post) so take a look when you get a chance.
Post with us anytime...and let us know how you are progressing!
Talk to you soon,
