Well you have come to the right place.:) Many of us here suffer or have suffered health anxiety.
I can be debilitating, often consuming our daily thoughts, and taking away our ability to do the things that we need and want to do.
You mentioned medication, but have you considered or tried any therapy for managment of your issue? I as well as many others here can tell you that it works.
Why not make an appointment with your doctor to discuss a possibility of another medication...one that wil work for you with minimal side effects...and while you are there, ask for a therapy referral.
CBT in particular is very effective for treating anxiety with health worries.
I can also make some good books recommendations for you on the subject of health anxiety...let me know and I will post the links for them.
You may also want to do a search here at HW (upper right, blue icon) to see older posts on the subject. Just type in key words (health anxiety, fear of illness, ect.) and see just how many posts we have on the subject. Just reading about other's similar stuggles can be a comfort.
