I started having palpitations in my early forties. Tests showed nothing wrong. So I lived with it. Got a new boss, and the problem went away. Then several years ago, having gone through three torn retina surgeries, and several other medical-type situations, I began to have them again. I'd get very light-headed, and really did think I was going to die. Had all the tests again. I was seventy then. My heart was in great shape, and strong. One night, lying in bed, I felt strange, and put my finger on the big artery on my neck. My pulse was going very fast. Then it slowed way down, and stopped. Each time it did that I waited. Would it start again? There wasn't anything I could do.
Because of all I'd been going through, taking my vitamins was the last thing I thought of. But one day, I realized I should be taking them to build up my strength. Because I have Osteoperosis, I take Calcium and "D". So I started taking it all again, and was amazed to realize one day that the palpitations had stopped.
I read somewhere a few days ago that too much Calcium can cause heart atttacks. But not enough may do the opposite. I deliberately didn't take the calcium for a time to see what happened, and I began to have the Palpitations again. When I took the Calcium for a few days, they stopped.
I'm one of those people who don't take prescript
ion drugs. I told my doctor no to them, and he said doctors spend half their time prescribing medications, and the other half prescribing medications for the side effects of the first ones. I did take antibiotics for a year and a half for a lung infection, that didn't do a darned thing but cause other problems. I do everything I can to maintain my zillion conditions myself.
Just wanted all of you suffering from palpitations to know what worked for me. I hope you're able to find solutions for yours.
