I took zoloft a long time ago for depression, was on it about a year. I was just posting on someone else's question about increased yawning, because i remember that happening when first starting. and I think it also gave me some insomnia and weird/intense dreams and a weird feeling in my stomach, which made me eat less. I think these things went away after a few weeks. it did seem to help the depression.
but i've never taken it for anxiety. i've thought about it lately, but just don't think i want to go on it again. the side effects, the going on then off. this is not to say it is good or bad. and everyone has to find for themselves if the medication helps, how it effects them, etc.
i have taken fish oil before and helped with mood and anxiety, but was a subtle difference, kind of calming (took a few weeks to notice a difference). but i haven't tried it again since getting panic attacks... maybe i should. i've also found b vitamins really did improve mood/energy for a few hours after taking it. but i am wary of mixing supplements with medication.
Make sure you discuss w/your doctor before taking supplements in addition to zoloft. some, I believe rhiodiola, st. john's wort and some others are not good to take if you are already taking an antidepressant. not saying this to scare you and I am not a doctor! just saying always check first to be safe.
