2 lumps under my jaw

Hey. Im a 17 year old male. i noticed that i have 2 lumps under my jaw about 3/4 months. they have been sore in the past. But i have really only taken notice of them now, i need some comfort of knowing what they are. there on either side of my voice box and just above it. there about 3 cm's away from eachother. i havn't gone to see the doctor yet. which im planning on doing when i get my flu shots. They're kind of sore when i move my head around.

if someone knows anything it would be appreciated, as i am worried. thanks

Hi E.P. and welcome!

I am sorry that you have been dealing with this worry. I understand how it is to worry about such things.

However, I will first off tell you that of all the things that I have worried about...none of them have actually turned out to be of any concern.

Most likely, you will find that the lumps are perhaps glands, or some other benign explanation. If you have had a virus, canker sores, tooth issues or even acne...glands around the jawline can become inflamed, and take weeks to return to normal size.

Do follow up with your doctor though. Give us an update when you can...and keep posting with us anytime you are struggling with any anxiety issue. We are here to understand and support!

thanks feather! gave me a laugh. Hopfuly its that simple! :) Thank you scaredy. I dont think its going to be anything serious. But in the back of my mind i do have that idea of cancer sitting there.
