im at a loss

It's been a while since i posted on here due to life issues but here we go , i have been diagnosed with panic disorder , agoraphobia and slight depression going on 6 years now, I had to get a new Dr cause well the one i was seeing went to jail for touching his female patients. the new dr has prescribed me many many many different meds but i always have a reaction to them like every single one of them ( clarify the meds he put me on were ssri's ) so he decided to try a different class of anti anxiety meds but they are still giving me problems so i told him im tired of being a guinea pig and he said he will give me something to sleep ... ( i dont have a problem sleeping ) so he has me all drugged up on tranquilizers .. i have been on klonopin for 5 1/2 years they help me alot and i know there has to be another med besides the klonopin but he is telling me he is going to take me off them cause i am getting a dependency to them... well i refuse to fix something that is not broken i am still on a low dose .5 mg 2 - 3 times a day he said thats still to high of a dose .. i am scared i do not want to go back to what i went through before not including the side effects of a benzo withdrawl. so now he has me on the klonopin still with resteril and seraquil. i tried them for 2 nights and was sleeping 15 - 18 hours, so i am thinking it is time to find a new doctor cause 1.) i am far from better i actually have recently gotten worse , 2.) i am scared to death of the withdrawls from a benzo and finally he said if nonne of the medicines he prescribes are effecting me i have 2 options him taking me off the klonopin or paying to have a genetic test done i cannot afford that. i am just curious what you all feel i should do .. mmaybe give me some advice onn what i should tell him cause what i am telling him just isnt working i think he thinks i am making it up but i am so not ... i want to get better more than anyone can ever know... cant sleep, nightmares, sweats , hives , itching , dizzy , with celexa my eyes wouldnt dedilate i wouldd rather be on this med than to be in the hospital every other day as i did when i first started getting attacks, my attacks are very abnormal especially when my heart rate jumps to 171 bpm while standing and 158 bmpm while rest and i get atrial fib when i have them .. the med actually does help... no i dont wanna be on them forever but for right now i dont see my self trying to stop them it will just make this whole situation worse.

I am sorry that you are having a difficult time with your Rx concerns at the moment. It is frustrating I am sure to be in a place between symptoms and side effects...and the dependency concerns.

I am assuming that your presribing doctor is a GP? If so, have you sought a psychiatrist referral?

Having your medical doctor and a P-doc confer on the best course of action for you may be a good idea.

Aslo, have you had, or are you currently doing therapy? Therapy in combination with finding the right Rx could really be the treatment that could help to you make huge strides in recovery.

I would urge you to explore these two ideas and see how it works out for you.

Do you have other options? This clinic sounds like it is less than ideal...

If it is at all possible to make a switch, then I would do it as soon as I could.

If not, and the worst case senario happens and you lose the Rx that has been so helpful to you...perhaps you could ask for weekly sessions of therapy to help offset the loss of your Klonopin.

You may suprise yourself, and find that you are stronger now then in the past...and that you can get the same results from using your coping skills that you have learned!
